Spainish Influenza 1918/19

Tosun,

I notice your last answer to a question was the Spainish Flu.

I have many men who suffered death from this illness, which effected the western fighting nations very badly during 1918/19.

What was its effects in the Ottoman Empire during this time, or change over and the war of Liberation?

Did it effect the Turks as bad as the other nations, or because of that time of transition that we may never know the true deaths within the Empire?

Cheers

Mate,

Many thanks for that very informative article on the Spanish lady in the Ottoman Empire.

When the Anzac Light Horse took Damascus 1st Oct 1918 they found the hospitals full of Turkish soldiers, many dieing from sickness of all causes.

I am sure many were from this illness, as it spread through our soldiers, as well as the Turks.

Terrible days.

My Grandfather survived the Spanish Flu in France after the end of the War ( to End All War )
Barely. It left him weakened for life.
