Do you have any details on these two officers in Palestine 1914/15

Esref (Kuscubasi) LtCol commander Vol Cav Palestine 1914/15

and

Ali Rusen (Alb) LtCol commander Jerusalem LofC 1914

This is the English spelling of their names so you may know by some other name?

Eşref Sencer (Kuşçubaşı)

Eşref Sencer Kuşcubaşı was born in Istanbul in 1873. When he was a cadet at the War College, Sultan Abdulhamid Khan expelled him to Hijaz for his connection with Young Turks. He escaped from prison at Hijaz and started an uprising against the palace. He took an important part during Young Turk rebellion and the declaration of Constitution in the empire. Later, he founded the famous intelligence organization named Teşkilat-ı Mahsusa. In 1911 he took part in the resistance at Trripoli The Trablusgarb againts invading Italians with Enver Bey and Mustafa Kemal Bey.

During the Balkan War, he played a major role by taking over Çorlu, Tekirdag, Malkara, Hayrabolu and Edirne on East Trace. And then He founded the first Turkish republic ever in the history at Western Trace "The Western Thrace Turkish Republic" (x) on pure turkish lands.

In 1918 he was taken POW by Faisal at Hayber and deported to Malta as war criminal. After his relasement from Malta with other turkish officials he joined the national forces. The took part on the band of Ethem the Circassian who fought with his irregular troops againts the greeks. Mustafa Kemal Pasha wanted reorganize the Turkish army and asked Ethem and Eşref Bey and their irregulars join the army. They refused and refuged to the Greeks. For that reason he was expelled from turkish citizenship . A general pardon was issued in 1938 and returned to Turkey.

Thank you, very interesting

Ali Rusen (Alb) LtCol last seen in fighting around Jerusalem near Nabi Samuel in which the British broke throw the Ottoman defences.

I did wonder if he shows a name (Alb) possibly because he was Albanian if he was lost (killed) at a village called Gib around 20 Nov 1917
