Unknown. even Dr.Jung dont mention his name in his book.
Birinci Dünya Harbinde Türk Harbi, IV ncü cilt, 1 nci Kısım Sina Filistin Cephesi, Harbin Başlangıcından İkinci Gazze Muharebesinin Sonuna Kadar. 1979, p. 338- 394 (Turkish War During WW1, Vol. 4, 1st part, Sinai-palestne Front. From the beginning of war till the end of 2nd Gazze)
writes only a sentence at p. 346
"On April 11-15th 1916 a reinforced company raided to Cifcafe which was 40 kms away from the Canal and took an Austian Engeneer officer and 33 Turks POW who were opening new water wells."
I learned through axis that the commander of the british raiders wasMaj.W.H.Scott from 9th Anzac Lightcav. Rgt.on April 13rd. Turkish POWs were soldiers and workers of 79th Inf. Rgt 4th Battalion, 2çCompany of 2th Div.

Tosun,
Thank you.
He appears to have made a statement after capture, but I can't find it, so I could find his name?
Another lost to history
Australians report six Ottoman soldiers were killed in this action and 34 captured.
They were buried on the battlefield and the one Australian soldier killed was taken back to be buried
Cheers

Tosun,
No worries, most of our documents are lost because of what happened later that month to the British Yeomanry around Romani, and having to see what happened to them, which keep our LH busy.
Cheers

Mates,
I notice an interesting comment on a German Air units site
"11 Apr 1916: papers found on an Austrian engineer captured on the Sinai front indicate the arrival of Pascha I FA 300"
Its known that FA 300 arrived at Beersheba and part moved to El Arish in April 1916.
The bag was out but German planes flying over the Suez and other parts of Egypt to follow.
