It's in the yellow circle.

One of the best maps of the area I've seen so far is a Soviet map. See Kelebek/Gelebek in the yellow circle.
As I mentioned before, it's where road departs from railroad, not far from a stream/river.

Thanks Greg, thats brilliant. These maps are so variable in quality its hard to get two to match! I havent seen that soviet one before but its a cut above anything else ive seen. Appreciate the help, cheers.

Thanks Greg. That is a truly unique photo. The only one of Kelebek that I have seen. A fantastic collection on flickr too.

By coincidence, i was watching the film 'Murder on the Orient Express' last night. Hercule Poirot and company travel along this line from Aleppo to Constantinople. The shots of scenery and the tunnels do have some value in giving a feel for what the area might have been like.
