Enver Paşa - honorary Prussian Army rank
Enver Paşa - honorary Prussian Army rank
Some years ago I came across a mention that Enver Paşa was awarded an honorary promotion to Generalfeldmarschall in the Prussian Army near the end of World War I, but I can find absolutely no confirmation of that, so I suspect that he did not in fact receive this promotion. Can anyone please confirm this?
Thanks,
AJK

Re: Enver Paşa - honorary Prussian Army rank
Hi AJ,
I think we safely say NO. He was however honoured by the Prussian Army by being placed à la suite of the prestigious Garde-Füsilier-Regiment on 11 September 1916.
Regards
Glenn

Thanks very much, Glenn, for your reply. I agree with you that it seems safe to say that Enver did not get an honorary Generalfeldmarschall rank.
