Tosun,

I guess we are having no luck with these officers mentioned in the Offical History, which fails to give many officers names in there actions.

This officer is shown as Saffet Efendi (Bozanti) later General)?

"commanded raid night of 7/8 of May strong sacrificial detachment of 140 troops at the Şehitler Hill (The Pimple)."

His raid was to be supported by 57th Regt, so was he part of the 57th Regt or some other unit?

Any insight would be of interest

Cheers

Majorgeneral M. Saffet Pozantı

Only I know that he took part at national civil forces of Adana (Clicia) region which was occupied by the french againts the conditions of Mundros Peace Agreement. He and a detachment of 44 men took a whole 1000 men french battalion POW at the pass of Pozantı on the Tourus Mountains. After the civil reforms he got "Pozantı" as a famili name.
