Tosun,

My Friend what do have on this officer?

Khalil Bey *unknown)? shown as Khalil Bey's Army

I have

Col Khalil Bey shown Caucasus Area June 1915 with 3rd and 5th Divs Expedition Force sent to Badhdad stopped Townsend at Kut commander of the 3rd Army's Right Wing in Eastern Anatolia dispatched to the region (6th Army at Baghdad) for support purposes on Enver Pasha's order 11-15 shown as Enver Pasha's uncle although he was actually one year younger than him

His he known by any other names?

Any details of his story would be good

I may have answered my own question here when reading further

After Goltz's death Khalil Bey, who was only 33 years old at the time, commanded the 6th Army first by proxy and then as the principal commander when he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and Governor of Iraq on April 22nd 1916.

That could only be the famous

Halil Pasa (Kut) 5th Expeditionary Force 12-14 to 6-15 & 18th Corps 11-15 to 4-16 & 6th Army (from Goltz died) 4-16 to 7-18 & Eastern Army Group Caucasus (Orient Army Group Caucasus) 6-18 to 11-18
(1882 in Istanbul - 1957) graduated 1905 joined the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) 1908 to Salonica to command the mobile gendarmerie units 1909 served Turco-Italian War of 1911-12 in Libya 1911 & Balkan Wars 1913 & WWI commander of the Turkish forces capturing Kut Mesopotamia supporting role in the Armenian Genocide during war jailed by the British Occupying Forces in Constantinople but escaped went to Azerbaijan to fight against the Armenians and fled to Moscow permitted to return to Turkey after the declaration of the Republic of Turkey in 1923 uncle to Enver Pasha

So why the two names?

Cheers

Khalil Bey is Halil Kut Paşa (1882, İstanbul – 20.8. 1957, İstanbul) Atatürk gave him the family name Kut for his victory at Kût'ül-Amâre.
