Sounds like a military band killing Beethoven's Funeral March...

Nice clip. Love the solemn marching sound.

From which Wochenschau is this footage from? Is there a name for the music in this video? I've found this same music in Wochenschau Nr. 568, 577, 583, 585, and Descheg Monatsschau Nr. 23.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfHnfUt4ez4

Is there a name for this music from Die Deutsche Wochenschau Nr. 596? It also accompanied Doenitz's appearance in Nr. 620.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBOj8bfJOQE

The above is followed by the following, which seems to be from a classical music or an opera piece. It is followed by Liszt's Hunnenschlact and Wager's Rienzi Overture.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXNJfwt31IQ

This seems to be some sort of classical or opera piece used in Nr. 611. It also appears in Nr. 592. Can anyone attach a name to it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oK10Jw953n0

Not sure what from Nr. 635 this is. Is there a name to it? It also appears in Nr. 647.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0Vqden6M-g

Is the first part (up to 2m11s) of the music during Heidrich's funeral (DDW Nr. 615) also part of Trauermarsch Götterdämmerung or some other part from Wagner's Siegfried? If not, any idea of its origin?

Definitely not Siegfrieds Trauermarsch and I don't think it's from Siegfried nor that it is a Wagner piece. I have no idea what it might be though.

A couple of weird ones to me.

The first part of this one, up to the 25-second mark (of the burning houses in Mogilev), sounds very much like Soviet music. Then it transitions to the "Elektro-medizinische Apparate" part, which is a familiar refrain frequently used in Die Deutsche Wochenschau (Nrs. 505, 509, 512, 520, 531, 570, 615, 738) and Descheg Monatsschau (Nrs. 10 & 23). But there does seem some similarities between the two segments that they could be from the same piece.

The first 15 seconds of this next one is actually sandwiched between 'Auf den Straßen des Sieges' from 'Sieg im Westen'. Is this also from 'Sieg im Westen'? It sounds very Wagnerian to me. I almost thought it's the prelude to Trauermarsch Götterdämmerung of Wagner's Siegfried, but it doesn't appear to be from Siegfriend at all.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAdAO7ujneE

Are the following two segments from the same piece? Both sound like some music I associate with the voice-over "Einheiten der Kriegsmarine", probably from the ending of an earlier Wochenschau, though I don't remember which one.

The Flakkannonier scene starting around the 22m mark
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZscTEHW4h4

The Nachrichtenhelferin & Fernkampfbatterie scene starting around the 15m mark
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDC-yR7FjgM

Is there a name to this march musick, which could be from a song?

Is the first 25 seconds or so of this also part of Hunnenschlacht, or is it from another piece?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnBh7thxoA0

Is the last 40 seconds of this (starting from when the on-screen timer shows 00:10:52:07) from the same piece as the first 42 seconds?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUP2BOjE22w

Is there a name to this music?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-PJyYftx7g

And is there a name to this music from Nr. 697 (though it could be actually two different pieces)? The first part of it also appears in Nr. 715.

Can't shake the feeling that this refrain from Nr. 726 is somehow related to the melody played during Joseph Darnand's speech from Nr. 715 above.

Here's a longer version of the same melody in Nr. 730, which surprisingly does not have anything to do with the Frankreich.

Dear Panzerspitze, please restrain yourself from naming unknown melodies yourself (don't even do it privately, it'll never help you in your research, it might only mislead you in time). Just because you've heard a melody played during a scene with an official, it doesn't automatically become that official's melody. I know you didn't mean anything wrong, but it is wrong and it will make an endless confusion online in time. I've seen it happen too many times in the past. This is all public and most people won't bother to check whether you were just naming a melody for fun or to simplify your text for easier orientation - or whether it was the actual name of the tune. They'll just copy everything as is and spread the misinformation further and further.

I've corrected your text (again). Please be more careful from now on.

Cheers,
Ivan

Hi guys, I'm new to here.

In Die Deutsche Wochenschau Nr 742 11-23-1944, I find a great music from 11:00 but do not know where it comes from

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKThF2ZXSSc

Could anyone help to identify it? Many thanks!

Is there a name to this catchy tune from Nr. 661? It's also found in Nr. 677.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9BimcBhMlU

These two sound like pre-existing compositions adapted by Wochenschau. The second one may be of non-German origin, since it seems only used during segments concerning foreign affairs. Are there names to them?

Does anyone know the name of this music played during German newsreel?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W45jTL_xP9I

It starts from 4:35 and onwards. It sounds like a Wagner song but I could be wrong. Does anyone know the name of it?

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is in the right place, as I'm a new member, but I've been frequenting the forums for many years without registering.

Can anyone identify the music in this clip, from the Wochenschau in Kaluga? I feel like I know it somewhere, and it's some of my favourite music but I can't identify it. I'm on mobile at the moment so I can't copy the exact time from the video, but it's at 12:42-13:28 in the video, when the Wehrmacht marches through Kaluga/searches houses for Red Army soldiers, ending with "der Nachschub folgt dicht auf". Many many thanks

(managed to get the time stamped link)

Another one

This from 47 seconds to the end, does anyone know it? Sounds really familiar but can't place it.

Hello, does anybody know the name (and composer, if possible) of this background track? It often appears in later-war episodes of Wochenschau, but I can't seem to identify it. Here are a few examples of it appearing in videos:

From 5:55 to 8:11 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI9-YK3nc24
From 0:00 to 2:15 - https://youtu.be/09Y72cUgjzo
(The latter half of the melody) from 0:00 to 0:50 - https://youtu.be/W12mO_LLqjY
