Is there a name to this catchy tune from Nr. 661? It's also found in Nr. 677.

These two sound like pre-existing compositions adapted by Wochenschau. The second one may be of non-German origin, since it seems only used during segments concerning foreign affairs. Are there names to them?

This one sounds like some Ritter march. If I didn't already know of Richard Strauss' Koenigsmarsch, I'd almost want to call it that.

This sounds like it could be from a movie such as Olympia (1938), but it is certainly not from Olympia.

Does anyone know the name of this music played during German newsreel?

It starts from 4:35 and onwards. It sounds like a Wagner song but I could be wrong. Does anyone know the name of it?

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is in the right place, as I'm a new member, but I've been frequenting the forums for many years without registering.

Can anyone identify the music in this clip, from the Wochenschau in Kaluga? I feel like I know it somewhere, and it's some of my favourite music but I can't identify it. I'm on mobile at the moment so I can't copy the exact time from the video, but it's at 12:42-13:28 in the video, when the Wehrmacht marches through Kaluga/searches houses for Red Army soldiers, ending with "der Nachschub folgt dicht auf". Many many thanks

Another one - still haven't found the above music either previously posted from the in Kaluga section of the approaches to Moskau Wochenschau.

This from 47 seconds to the end, does anyone know it? Sounds really familiar but can't place it.

Music at the end of Deutsche Wochenschau No. 690

Post by marcs » 16 Jun 2019 01:34

Does anybody know the music that is played in the background of the end of the Deutsche Wochenschau No. 690, showing Speer visiting Dönitz and inspecting a submarine? It starts at 16:15 and extends until the end at 19:25. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xdr91oOu9gg

Hello and :welcome:

Starting at 17:06, there is "U-Boote fahren" (music by Kurt Rasch, lyrics by Alfred Schneider, 1942).

Cheers,
Ivan

Is anyone aware that all Third Reich newsreel soundtracks was expected to be tonal, and hence free of jazz-like music.

I'm sure you won't find jazz much used in any country's news reports, except in reports on jazz itself (present-time included).

Cheers,
Ivan

Hello, does anybody know the name (and composer, if possible) of this background track? It often appears in later-war episodes of Wochenschau, but I can't seem to identify it. Here are a few examples of it appearing in videos:

From 5:55 to 8:11 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI9-YK3nc24
From 0:00 to 2:15 - https://youtu.be/09Y72cUgjzo
(The latter half of the melody) from 0:00 to 0:50 - https://youtu.be/W12mO_LLqjY

Greetings gentlemen! I have 2 pieces from Die Deutsche Wochenschau that I was wondering if anyone knew of. Unfortunately Youtube has pulled many of these videos off as many of you are aware but I was able to find them on other mediums. The first is from https://archive.org/details/19420422Die ... .60728m51s and runs from 7:00 to 7:15. I've tried to google the words to the song but have come up with nothing.

The next piece is one I've heard before years ago with choral music almost like it was part of an opera. I swear it was composed by Wagner as well but wondering if anyone had any idea. The music starts at 4:30 and runs until 6:55. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1087032461423954

Much appreciated gents!
