Curiously, I found one website regarding the Allach Porcelain Works and a presentation to Stubaf Leander Hauck on his 40th birthday, which would have been August 1941. It is a candle holder, but frustratingly one can only see the dedication and a reference to him belonging to the 1st SS- such and such, but no more!

Regards Shane

Leander Hauck has also been commander of the SS-Music Academy. Apparently, he died during the Budapest breakout in february 1945. See Richard Landwehr's book relative to the battle of Budapest and a Siegrunen article on the SS-Musikschule.

Thanks to Charles for the info about Hauck, him being CO from the SS-Music Academy, that was something I didn't know yet...So thanks for letting us know.

Found this on the VDK-website:
Nachname: Hauck
Vorname: Leander
Dienstgrad: SS-Sturmbannführer
Geburtsdatum: 20.08.1901
Geburtsort: Schifferstadt
Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 28.01.1945
Todes-/Vermisstenort: Budapest auf dem Burggelände

I presume his DoD is correct???

Concerning Hauck:

Kommandierungen
SS-Sturmbannführer Leander Hauck vom SS-FHA Stabsmusikkorps m.W.v. 15.5. – 3.6.44 zum Lehrgang für Kommandeure Div.Nachschubtruppe zur Heeresnachschubtruppenschule Hannover als Lehrgangsteilnehmer

SS-FHA, Stabsbefehl Nr. 22/44 v. 19.9.1944
1. Versetzungen

T175 R107 2 630 920 – 923

When did he arrive as leader Div.Nachsch.Tr. 22? Who lead them first?

With all the best yours Roland

Respect to the research, just, what I don´t understand-how can he be apointed with a command of Füsilier Bataillon "Wallenstein" on spring 1945, when he was killed allready in January? He is listed as a commander in sources concerning Wallenstein. I don´t think that it could be anybody else of the same name...

Thanks for bringing this up, wasp68. It's surely a mistake and a different Hauck. Back in 2005, member Jarek G. posted on AHF order of battle of Kampfgruppe Wallenstein, copied from a period (May 1945) document (see this topic). Listed as commander of the Füsilier Btl. was a Hauck - without a first name. Phil Nix (†) then identified him as Leander Hauck, which was likely just a misassumption.

Cheers,
Ivan
