Guess the song:

Ruft uns Alarm hinaus zum Kampf,
dann stehen wir im Pulverdampf
und kämpfen zäh in treuer Pflicht,
denn ohne Infantrie geht's nicht.

"Schneidig ist die Infantrie".

The penny dropped when I saw "infantrie" ;)

Correct!

Can be found on the internet under a fictional title "Zicke-zacke Infanterie" "Schneidig ist die Infantrie" is the only correct title.

Your turn, Thomas :)

Ok, thanks. Next one is easy so that everyone can participate. What for did Goering have a military (not nazi) march which was titled after his name?

Question 26

#100

Post by Sdt » 21 Sep 2007, 19:22

I have realized my question is way too general as I just got new information saying that numerous marches with the name of Göring were in fact composed. The march I had in mind was the one played by the Musikkorps der Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur Berlin-Döberitz under Stabsmusikmeister Max Böhm. Since this is a flyers march, the answer would have been this Luftwaffe march was composed to honour Göring as he was a WWI ace and was at the head of the Luftwaffe.

My next question is more interactive. What is this march below? It is performed by the most famous band of the whole Third Reich. The march holds the name of a northern German region...
