Lisa (Des Morgens um halb viere...)

Post by dixiedrummer » 10 Oct 2009 22:32

[Topic title completed by the host, Ivan Ž.]

Does anybody know the lyrics to the SS recording of Lisa? All I can find is the standard lyrics.

Thanks,

Tim

The Nazis more or less changed just the refrain, to "Lisa, Lisa, nun schenke dem Hitlermann das Feuerwasser ein", or similar.

Cheers,
Ivan

Thanks Ivan, some parts of that song just seem different from the lyrics I've found, other than the chorus.

I think it's worth talking about some versions of this song. So here's what I managed to find:

-Blasorchester Carl Woitschach, mit M-Chor: SA-Sturm 33 (Telefunken) - recorded 1 and 4 stanza
-Blasorchester Carl Woitschach (Kristall) - recorded 1, 3 and 4 stanza
-Musikkorps des 17.Inf.-Regts., 2.Bataillon (Electrola) - recorded 3 stanzas
-Musikzug der SS-Standarte 42 (Gloria) - recorded 3 stanzas
-Musikzug der SS-Standarte 44 (Grammophon) - recorded 1, 2 and 4 stanza

Note: There were many more versions, but I singled out preferably military records.
The text was different in each of them. For example , in one they sing '"Reservemann" and in the other "Hitlermann".
It is known that initially there are 4 verses in the song.
Lisa

Lisa, Lisa,
schenke dem Reservemann noch mal ein,
Lisa, Lisa,
schenk der Reserve noch ein!

2. Der Hauptmann kam geritten,
auf einem Ziegenbock.
Da dachten die Rekruten,
es sei der liebe Gott.

Aber immer...

3. Der Posten ist erfroren,
in einer Winternacht.
Es fror ihn an den Ohren,
das hat ihn umgebracht.

Aber immer...

4. Das Lämpchen brennt so trübe,
es fehlt ihm an das Fett.
Das Mädchen, das ich liebe,
das liegt schon längst im Bett.

Aber immer...

And the point of a partial and sloppy research is...?

Says who? The song's origin is unknown and it can have up to 9 verses, if not more.

If you're doing anything in life, do it properly or don't do it at all.

I will take this into account in the future.
