Is it known how many recordings were made?

Two commercial recordings, both for Telefunken and conducted by the composer. One was sung by Jan Behrens and the other by Schultze's future wife, Bulgarian actress Iwa Wanja. Recorded on 07.01.1941 and 05.03.1942. The latter one is better known in the digital world.

Does anyone know what the brass music at the end is? Is it another song?

Note that "The Stars and Stripes Forever" (and "Deutsches Flaggenlied" too) wasn't incorporated into the 1941 recording, as it pre-dates the USA entering WWII. The song ("Das Lied vom deutschen U-Boot-Mann") itself actually originates from 1940.
