SA - Sieg Heil! [medley by L. Emmermann]

#1

Post by Tintin1689 » 06 Nov 2007, 19:03

[Topic renamed by the host, Ivan Ž.]

One of my particular favourites is a potpourri of marching songs called "Berlin singt". It is in two parts and I've only seen one part on CD. The second part is great and has a Nazi version of "Higher and Higher" the Soviet Air Force song where they all shout "Heil Hitler".

Now the medley I have is as follows:-

Part 1
Durch deutsches Land marschieren wir
Auf, auf zum Kampf
Märkische Heide
Morgen marschieren wir in Feindesland
UNKNOWN
Als die gold'ne Abendsonne

Part 2
Lore
Brüder in Zechen und Gruben
Es zog ein Hitlermann hinaus
Heraus zum Kampf
Horst Wessel Lied

This is exactly the same group as in Part 1 and, on the tape there is a space and some gramophone type sounds I am sure this must be the elusive Part 2

Does anyone know if Horst Wessel's own No.5 Company of the Berlin SA ever ventured into the recording studio?

Hello Tintin,

Now I am interested by what you say about this "Berlin singt" potpourri. This potpourri has been a total mistery for me because I was simply unable to find relevant information about it. You would be of great help if you could provide me and the forum with information! Thanks!

I will add my voice to those looking for the "Berlin singt" potpourri "II. Teil" The songs referenced were common in these SA potpourri's but I've not heard the complete medley.

And is it possible to get the second part? ;)

(And, if possible, the first part in good quality)

The title of this medley is "SA - Sieg Heil!". It was composed by Lorenz Emmermann and performed by Kapelle des S. Sturmbanns 12 under Martin Ewers and sung by SA-Sturm 23/10.

I
- SA marschiert
- Auf, auf zum Kampf!
- Brandenburger Lied
- Morgen marschieren wir in Feindesland
- In München sind viele gefallen
- Als die gold'ne Abendsonne

II
- Lore
- Brüder in Zechen und Gruben
- Es zog ein Hitlermann hinaus
- Heraus zum Kampf
- Horst-Wessel-Lied

The falsifying of the title and the performer began with the pirate Swedish pro-nazi "company" which call themselves "Reichsmusikkammer" (RMK). They released the 1st part of the medley on one of their CDs under the fictional title "SA Sturm 33 Maikowsky, Berlin singt"; another comma is missing after "Berlin", since it is the location of the unit which is supposed to be singing the medley. But the next person who copied and forwarded it around obviously thought that the 1st part of the fictional title is the performer and that the 2nd is the actual title. And there's that 2nd fictional title: "Berlin singt". As it was already presented above - in reality there was never any connection between this recording and the SA-Sturm 33/1 (Hans Maikowski) whatsoever.

Fictional title released on the RMK pirate CD

[Split from Deutscher Kampf im Lied]

Hi . I see that many people have written many things. I found a recording for which I could not find a record label or any information. I found only the recording available for viewing on archive.org. A clipped video with colored shots and " ̶D̶e̶u̶t̶s̶c̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶K̶a̶m̶p̶f̶ ̶i̶m̶ ̶L̶i̶e̶d̶" goes below it. I collected the text here. But no, because I don't speak German, I'm not sure it's accurate.

[The actual name of the medley is "SA - Sieg Heil!" The lyrics below have been checked and corrected by the section host, with the use of several period songbooks containing the songs in question.]

sandte ihren letzten Schein, letzten Schein,
zog ein Regiment von Hitler
in ein kleines Städtchen ein.

Lore, Lore, Lore, Lore,
schön sind die Mädel von 17, 18 Jahr.
Lore, Lore, Lore, Lore,
schöne Mädel gibt es überall.

Und kommt der Frühling dann ins Tal,
grüß mir die Lore noch einmal,
ade, ade, ade.

Brüder in Zechen und Gruben,
Brüder ihr hinter dem Pflug,
aus den Fabriken und Stuben
folgt uns'res Banners Zug!

Es zog ein Hitlermann hinaus,
er ließ sein Mütterlein zu Haus.

Und als die Trennungsstunde kam
er traurig von ihr Abschied nahm.
Sie aber leise zu ihm spricht:
Hitlergardist, tu' deine Pflicht.

Hello, Gergely, and :welcome:

You got the name of the medley wrong - it's actually called "SA - Sieg Heil!" I've merged your post with the proper topic now. See the previous posts for more info and the record label. The lyrics you compiled (with the use of online sources) were largely correct but did contain some wrong words and a number of misspellings, which are now corrected with the help of reliable (period) sources.

Cheers,
Ivan
