Gerhard Scholz, how shall I worship thee? Quite literally a masterwork of military music, widely used in the World At War series. I now look forward to spending much money to purchase Wohlauf, Kameraden. Did he do anything else of similar quality??

Help me with one more potpourri :) I know all songs, but don't know the true name of potpourri, and I'm not sure about performers:

1. Teil
- Alte Kameraden
- Wenn die Soldaten
- Hamburg ist ein schönes Städtchen
- Zehntausend Mann
- Es wollt' ein Mädchen früh aufstehn
- Ich bin ein freier Wildbretschütz
- Lore, Lore
- Brandenburger Lied
- Schlesierlied
- Westerwaldlied
- Tirol, du bist mein Heimatland
- Schwarzbraun ist die Haselnuß
- Droben im Oberland
- Es ging ein junger Jägersmann

2. Teil
- Vom Barette schwankt die Feder
- Wildgänse rauschen durch die Nacht
- Seeräuberlied
- Von dem Berge rauscht ein Wasser
- Wenn wir marschieren
- Lippe-Detmold, eine wunderschöne Stadt
- Ein Schifflein sah ich fahren
- Wilde Gesellen vom Sturmwind durchweht
- Wenn die bunten Fahnen wehen
- Wohlauf, Kameraden, auf's Pferd
- Die blauen Dragoner
- Hoch auf dem gelben Wagen
- Da drunten vor dem Tore
- Ruf nach dem Gebet
- Deutschlandlied

Thanks in advance!

It's called "Alte Kameraden", the composer wasn't credited. Performed by Die Bückeburger Jäger under Obermusikmeister a. D. Wilfried Majowski and sung by Soldatenchor der Bundeswehr. The author of the rarely known songs "Es ging ein junger Jägersmann" and "Da drunten vor dem Tore" is the record producer, Heinz Matschurat. I have also added "Ruf nach dem Gebet" in your list above.

Yes, 1954. It is a post-WWII composition as well.

The version you are referring to was cut from the medley "Wohlauf, Kameraden!", recorded by Musikkorps 6 der Bundeswehr under Major Gerhard Scholz and sung by Soldatenchor des Lehr-Bataillons der Heeresoffizierschule II.

It's "Schatz, ach, Schatz", cut from the 1959 medley "Drei Lilien, drei Lilien...". The song is actually a kind of a medley inside a medley and it contains the following folk songs: Schatz, ach, Schatz - Drum, Mädchen, weine nicht - Gloria, Viktoria - Die Vöglein im Walde - Wer weiß, ob wir uns wiedersehn.

Ivan
