A private shot of the band of Panzer-Regiment 5 (which recorded the best known version of "Ob's stürmt oder schneit") mounted on Instandsetzungskraftwagen (IKW) I, in Groß-Born. There seem to be 9 vehiches: 1 with conductor, followed by 2x4 with musicians.

This week I received a copy of Grammophon C 2784. After a Google search for Friedrich Täger and Musikkorps Panzer-Regiment 5, I found a couple of photos from book Panzers in the sand by Bernd Hartmann.

5 November 1939: The regimental band holds a concert for the wounded from the campaign in Poland. The text reads: "Sunday, 5 November, 1600 hours (4 o'clock). Charitable concert for the benefit of the wounded of the tank regiment in Poland at the Flower Gardens in Oberschoneweicle. Performing: The music corps and choir of Panzer-Regiment 5. Directing: Stabsmusikmeister Taeger. The entrance cost of 50 Pfennige will be given exclusively to the wounded. The rapid end of the war in Poland is especially thanks to the advancing armored forces, in addition to the magnificent performance of the Luftwaffe and other forces. Those who remained at home can especially thank the wounded by attending the charitable event in large numbers."

You are welcome... and thank you for that fine photo with an unusual presentation of a band.
