I have recently obtained SS-Hauptsturmführer Adolf Laubmann's TK ring and was wondering if anyone could translate the text on the attached order of his service.

Laubmann, Adolf cut down - 1a.jpg
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Forum!

The data you show here (from his Führerkarte) has :

Attached to SS-"N" (neu aufgestellter Sturmbann der SS-Verfügungstruppe - a battailon in the armed SS): until 01.04.1938
Musikzugführer SS "3" SS-VT (Music Platoon Leader in SS-Verfügungstruppe): 01.04.1938
SS-Pz.Gren.Div. "Das Reich": until 01.01.1944
Spent time in a motorized Training & Replacement Abteilung - the record above shows he was originally scheduled to report 05.10.1943, but that was cancelled & he ended up having to report: 01.01.1944
Reported to 2 different training facilities in 1944 (Panzer-Grenadier Schule Kienschlag & Wehrmacht Streiten Lehr Abteilung)
(I can't decipher the last entry)

The inclusion of a Totenkopfring in his records first shows up in the 01.12.1936 SS-DAL. Perhaps you could go to Axis Awards (under the Militaria & Collecting Forum on this site) and post a picture of the ring? I think it would be of interest to some of us.

I believe Musikzug 3 belonged to the regiment 'Der Führer'.

Hi,

Thanks for the input on the Führerkarte of Adolf Laubmann.

It's just the last line now that I would like to decipher (with anyones help!).

This is what I have upto now:-

kdt (temporary) Gr.H (or K ?) ? St.D. z.b.V. SS-Hauptsturmführer Adolf Laubmann. (for special purpose).g (orQ)?

Thanks again for your help.

SS-Sturmführer Adolf Laubmann was from summer 1934 till ?? with Hilfswerk Dachau.
Source: SS-DAL 1934/Sturmf

He served with the Musikzug from SS-Bataillon 'Nürnberg'.

Does someone know where he was born??

Greetings, Mike

Hi Mike,

He was born in Indersdorf, near to Dachau, Bavaria.

Like I said above, I would really like to know what happened to him. Did he return to Indersdorf after the war I wonder?

Cheers.

As a matter of interest here is Hauptsturmfuhrer Adolf Laubmanns Totenkopfring. The date 30.1.1936 is the rarest date of the TK rings with only about a dozen at the most having been produced with that date.

Here some more info about A. Laubmann.
Musikkorps II. - SS - Deutschland (ab November 1934 in Dachau; Führung: SS-Untersturmführer Adolf Laubmann).
Musikkorps des SS-Regiments Der Führer (ab Juli 1938 in Wien; Führung: SS-Hauptsturmführer Adolf Laubmann).

Yesterday evening I found out that Hauptsturmfuhrer Adolf Laubmann died on 19.4.1947. He is buried along with 70,000 other German prisoners of war in the military cemetery in Zaporizhia, Ukraine.

I would really appreciate it if someone could get anywhere near deciphering the last line of his Führerkarte.
It seems like he must have returned to a front line unit and was captured by the Russians.

Thanks.

Afternoon gentleman,

If it helps, I read:
Kommandant Wehrmacht Streifen Lehr Abteilung [Belzig/Mark] 1.10.44-25.10.44
Then,
Kdt. Gr. H. StD z.b.V. 9 [from] 25.10.44

Which translates to:
Kommandant Gruppe Heeres Streifendienst z.b.V. 9 [from] 25.10.44-
z.b.V. or zur besonderen Verwendung translates roughly to 'for special purpose'.

According to http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... en/HWS.htm
Gruppe Heeresstreifendienst 9:
Aufgestellt 25. 3.1943 im WK XIII; seit l.3.1944 Gruppe Wehrmachtstreifendienst, 1944 HGr. A Südpolen, 1945 HGr. Mitte Ober-schlesien.
Hope it helps.
Stuart. :)

Brilliant! Thanks very much Stuart. I've sent you a PM.

I did explain to Stuart in the PM that I omitted to mention in my original post was that Laubmann was badly wounded in the head and knee near Belograd, just before the Battle of Kursk in 1943 whilst serving with Das Reich. This explains his strange postings from the end of 1943.
