Defiliermarsch [by C. Faust]
[Several topics dealing with the same march have been merged and renamed by the host, Ivan Ž.]
I just can't recognize the march they play on the parade as they march by Hitler (Augen Rechts, from 1:55); I know the marches are not music of the Reich as most of them were composed earlier, but can anyone help me here?

March name - please help me!
So I've been looking everywhere for this German march. I have seen it appear in many of the parades and it's a great march. But I just can't find any information about the name. Can someone with a bit more knowledge help me?
Note: I'm just intereseted in march music and therefore I do not share or appreciate the Nazi ideology. So please ignore the salutes and swastikas in the videos, because that's not why I watch them. Thank you.
You can find the march in these videos:

Hello and
It is Carl Faust's "Defiliermarsch", one of the best and most popular parade marches ever composed.
In Swedish military tradition, known as (the first half of) the "Västernorrlands regementes marsch".
Cheers,
Ivan

Re:
This is, what I collected on several Books:
(Suppan)

Music for german victory parade
Hi all,
I have been chasing for some years a march tune played during footage of the Wehrmacht marching through a crowded street. The footage was shown on "The World at War" Ep 5 Barbarossa. Episode is on Dailymotion
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3p7ao6 13.30min-14.20min.
Any ideas? I assume it is german.
Thanks

Hi Ivan,
Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, that is indeed the song I was chasing. Interesting comments on the clip. I had no idea it had been used in so many media releases at the time. Then again, it's a damn awesome tune. I still reckon the German marches are among the best in the world. USA are pretty good too. There are a few more tunes that I may need ID in the future.
Vielen dank
David

All nations have 'good' marches . It is the nature of the beast.Ekrabappel wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 10:52I still reckon the German marches are among the best in the world. USA are pretty good too.
