Der Rebell: Uns're Zeit ist endlich gekommen

After a long time, I remembered to play this big hit from 1933, which is almost forgotten today. The song was made by hitmakers Becce & Knorr, originally for the film "Der Rebell", which was released in December 1932. Naturally, the song title - "Our time has finally come" - very much suited the Nazis, who came to power a month later.

A "Brillant" (Tono) recording by Paul Dorn and Richard Forst's Dance Band.

Cheers,
Ivan

Some of the record labels (note: all known recordings of the song were made in 1933)

This one is actually Hakenkreuz-Platte 2038 with a "Brillant-Special" label covering the original swastika label and with a "Record" half-label covering the upper part of the "Brillant-Special" label (so: two and a half labels on one side of the record!).

Possibly the rarest release of the song: a performance by Johannes Fuhsel's SA band on a "Naziton" picture disc.

I can understand why the Nazi's would adopt the song. It has a bit of a "March" beat to it. I'm more interested in who the babe is. :D

:D The pretty girl has nothing to do with the song though, it's American actress Gene Tierney (the YouTube user used similar vintage girl-playing-gramophone photos for all of his/her videos).

The patriotic, freedom-fighting lyrics also nicely matched the usual Nazi slogans

Reminder: one of the very next films that the composer Becce composed music for was "Hans Westmar" (Horst Wessel).
