Volk, an’s Gewehr! (Siehst du im Osten das Morgenrot...)

[Several threads dealing with the same song have been merged by the host, Ivan Ž.]

On a CD I have, the second track is entitled 'Siehst du im Osten das Morgenrot'. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can obtain copies of the words and copies of the music itself?

Hi Brig,
Does this help?

That is full size, I scanned it from a "Kraft durch Freude" pocket songbook.

I was just looking around for speeches without the translations overtop and music from that time period.

I ran across the 'Books burn as Goebbels speaks' video on this page.

I was wondering if anyone knows the name of the song that they are singing at the end of his speech?
If not is there a movie clip that contains more of this song?

Hello, a long time ago I found a nice version of Volk an's Gewehr and I found it recently. This version is really good because of his long introduction but I fear that this version is a post war one.
Anyways, if someone could identify the origin of this verion it would be really nice :D

Many thanks,

The so-called "Volkssturmlied" you may find on YouTube is NOT a "Volkssturmlied". It is a 1940 recording of the 1933 song "Volk an's Gewehr" (an arrangement by Hanns Steinkopf). The YouTube title was made-up by the uploader, as he actually admitted himself.
