Hans Baumann (1914-1988)

Post by Ivan Ž. » 28 Sep 2020 11:47

Famous poet (and composer) Hans Baumann, author of some of the biggest hits of the Third Reich, such as "Es zittern die morschen Knochen", "In den Ostwind hebt die Fahnen", "Nur der Freiheit gehört unser Leben" or the Christmas song "Hohe Nacht der klaren Sterne" (which remained popular after the war as well), pictured as a Leutnant (second lieutenant) during WWII.

Another portrait photo in uniform, possibly taken during one of the annual poets' meetings in Weimar (photographer: Hanns Tschira).

He's been a great musician in history, many of his songs still played online and on various music websites.
