All Quiet on the Western Front (1979) soundtrack
[Two threads dealing with "All Quiet on the Western Front" soundtrack have been merged by the music section host, Ivan Ž.]
In the movie "All quiet on the western front" there is a march played by a band when the kaiser is driving past soldier which is before he gives out the medals and makes his speech, can anyone identify and tell me the name of the march? I heard it is also used during WW2

I, too, wish I knew that march. It was also played in "The Blue Max" as the pilots were standing in formation for the ceremony during which von Klugermann received the Pour le Mérite.
Regards,
Shawn
EDITED: The movie soundtrack lists a few period marches/other music that appeared “The Blue Max,” among them the “Presentiar March.” I can’t find any other reference to this march via Google except as a listing under the movie soundtrack.

It could be 'Präsentiermarsch' (Friedrich Wilhelm III) or 'Petersburger Marsch'. The latter is played in 'The Blue Max' when the General helps his wife out of the car and later has Stachel pointed out to him. 'Präsentiermarsch' is played at an unusually slow speed while the officers are at presentation.
'Präsentiermarsch' can be downloaded from http://www.oronzo.com/world_war_2_mp3.html and it's number 35 on the list. Regards!
