Schindler's List (1993) soundtrack

Post by T.R.Searle » 03 Oct 2002 18:45

[Several threads dealing with "Schindler's List" soundtrack have been merged by the music section host, Ivan Ž.]

Maybe someone knows now the song that was in the movies Schindler's List when the Heer troops were marching down the street near the beginning, Uprising when the SS troops were singing it marching into the ghetto and in The McKenzie Break when the Kriegsmarine men were singing it in the prison barracks.

Maybe Haen can help if he has seen these movies  as I have no idea

Sorry, i have made it a point to see as few of those movies as possible. bad for my bloodpressure. The ONE i would recommend for evryone to get is 08.15 (all three parts) it's in black and white and actually anti war, but VERY well done, and very close to reality. HN.

Schindler's List

Post by Oskar » 04 Oct 2002 05:32

Hello all:

Anybody know the name of the song the soldiers sang in "Schindler's List" as the soldiers marched into the city (and a little German boy paraded in front of them), or in "Uprising" as they were marching into the Ghetto.

Thanks,

Oskar

In "Schindler's List," It sounded like they were singing "Erika." I'm not 100% sure though.

Schindler's List song

Post by Lawrence » 29 May 2003 06:32

Does anyone know the name of the song at the beginning of 'Schindler's List' at the party, when the top hat girls come out a do their little dance, and the SS officers say 'Drink with us! Marry us!'. It was awfully catchy. Thanks in advance!

Speaking of music:

* KalaVelka has already told us [here] that the music being played when Oskar is in the restaurant is Carlos Gardel's famous "Por Una Cabeza". BUT, that I'd really like to know is:

Just before the restaurant scene, they show Oskar dressing up for the restaurant (taking out his ties, pins, money). There is something playing on the radio. I'd really like to know what that is...

Thanks much.

John

I'm not sure, but I think it sounds a lot like a version of that famous/infamous 1940's piece "Gloomy Sunday".
On the other hand, that song is not listed as music used in the film on imdb.com:

Thanks much HPL!! It is indeed a modification of Gloomy Sunday.

A trully depressing work. I like it :)

Thanks once again...

Kasper,

Is it the (exact) same type as the one played in the movie? I have many versions of this song :) But I don't have the movie version yet.
