Marek Weber (1888-1964)

Post by Ivan Ž. » 19 Nov 2020 10:53

A good (late 1920s) photo of the popular German-Jewish violinist and dance bandleader of the Hotel "Adlon", Marek Weber, who made some of the finest recordings for Electrola during the Weimar era (notice the Electrola logo in the corner of the photo; he also recorded for Grammophon and Lindström's Parlophon label). One of the rare military recordings he made was Roland's "Parademarsch der Langen Kerls" (Electrola EG 2301).
