Feuertaufe: Deutscher Vormarsch

[Topic renamed by the host, Ivan Ž.]

Can someone please help with identification of the music at 14.25 - 15.35 in this Wochenschau?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vmXyobQLDo

The music is played in various Wochenschauen when showing advancing troops. It mainly occurs in Wochenschau reels from the first months of the Russian campaign, but is occasionally used before that, like in the clip above, Wochenschau 512 showing the Frankreichfeldzug.

Thanks in advance!

That's from "Feuertaufe" (1940). The full length movie can be found online.

Thanks a lot! If it is original music for Feuertaufe I assume the composer is Norbert Schultze. Do you know if the melody has a name?

The title of the composition was "Deutscher Vormarsch" (German Advance). See Schultze's 1944 quote in Prieberg's Handbuch, p. 6398: "In den Kriegswochenschauen klingt immer wieder das Thema 'Deutscher Vormarsch' aus 'Feuertaufe' auf..."

The melody (part of it actually) became known as the aggressive battle intro of the song "Bomben auf Engelland"; however, in the newsreels, as well as in the original film, it was played separately from the song, in a bit slower tempo (usually accompanying scenes of the German advance).

Cheers,
Ivan

I forgot to mention that there's also a rare radio (instrumental) recording of "Bomben auf Engelland" with "Deutscher Vormarsch" tune played at the beginning, in the middle and at the end (play the sample below).

Thanks a lot, Ivan!

I also read your reply in the parallel thread on "Feuertaufe: Bomben auf Engelland..." (sorry that I do not know how to make internal links to other threads). It helped me a lot!
