"The World at War" documentary series soundtrack

Post by Gareth Collins » 19 Dec 2002 20:22

There is a German Army Marching song i heard in 'The World At War' i believe it was in the Barbarossa one. I can't remember the name of it. It's Not the 'Panzerlied' or 'Horst Wessel Lied', that much I do know. If anyone can help please do. It's something like 'kommeraden' or 'Soldaten' i knew it a few years back...now I don't and my brain is going to explode.
Thanks In Advance.
Gareth

Gareth, the song you're thinking about may be called "Wenn Die Soldaten". If it is the episode where music starts up, right when the flag of old Imperial Germany changes into the Swastika flag, then I know I'm right. It's a very catchy song, one of my favorties! :D

Regards!

I LOVE IT. You have saved my brain from frying and helped me get the song again. Many Thanks.
Best Regards,
Gareth

I remember when I almost went mad trying to find that song. It's very catchy, and the wonderful Third Reich nuts at this board helped me! Thanks guys! If you want the translated lyrics, just holler. Regards!

I don't know the name of this song/march. It appears in the World at War series on DVD during a sequence when Hitler is riding a train thru Germany after the defeat of France. It goes something like "Bom baderassa bom baderassa bom" at times, it's very lively. Does anyone know a site or such that has a downloadable version of it or just it's name to start with?

Regards

However I can't seem to find the "military choir" version of it, only the Marlene Dietrich pop version...

I downloaded the "military version" a few months ago, I uploaded it here. The quality isn't too good, but it's listenable :)

Hello everybody.

I'm new to this forum and i wanted to say that i'm amazed by the wide range of topics you cover and by the unbelievable detailed and vast knowledge of the members. It's really a great forum.

I was wondering if anybody can help me identifying this song... Does anybody know it's name and maybe where i can find it? Apparently it's an Afrika Korp song but i can't.... trace it. The clip is taken from the world at war.

Thank you very much

In the 1970's documentary series "The world at war", there is a clip of film showing German troops parading past the Arc De Triomphe in Paris after the victory in 1940. Can anyone tell me the name of the marching tune being played?

It was also played in the final parade scenes in the 1930's German documentary "March to the Fuhrer"

Hello,

It is the old march "Preußens Gloria" by Gottfried Piefke.

Cheers,
Ivan
