Don't know the name of the instrumental piece, but the sung part is "Gloria, Viktoria" song. Seems to be a radio recording.

Cheers,
Ivan

Greetings from Oregon, where we kiss where the sun don't shine
This excerpt is from The World at War series by Thames, BBC back in the early '70's and of late available on DVD. I've been particularly taken with this song and over the years I've heard it in various programs and movies. Can anyone help me identify the title of this song?
Thanks in advance and a lify of the lynch lid.

Schwester spricht:
"Welch Gesicht?"
Kennt den Bruder nicht.
Kommt daher die Mutter sein,
Schaut ihm kaum ins Aug hinein,
Ruft sie schon:
"Hans, mein Sohn!
Grüß dich Gott, mein Sohn!"

Hallo,

it's called 'Russland-Fanfare', taken from Les Préludes by Franz Liszt.

"Russland-Fanfare" was a mix of a tune from "Horst-Wessel-Lied" and from "Les préludes", not just the other one.

It was so popular that everyone performed it. So I can't really say who sings in that video.
But I am sure, it is not a woman singing, it's a man's voice.
perfect thank you for helping me find the name of the song.

It's the folk song "Wenn wir marschieren", recording taken from the famous "Drei Lilien, drei Lilien" medley by Musikkorps 6 der Bundeswehr.

Hello everyone, I allow myself to relaunch the subject because I am also looking for music used by the series. (And sorry for my English, I use google translation :D)

I'm looking for three. The first two are in episode 12 on Allied bombing. At 3 minutes 50 there is a German song. Then it may be off topic (sorry) but there is also an English music that I would like to know and which is 4 minutes 12 seconds.

Here is the link of the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P8Xu3n ... fn&index=7

Finally the third music is in episode 8 on the desert war. We hear it three times, the first time from 2 minutes 23. The second time at 3 minutes 4 and the third time is at 7 minutes 30 seconds.

Here is the link for the episode: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3p7c1h

Thank you in advance for your help and sorry if I was off topic or too bad in English ;)

Hello and :welcome:

Both tunes (there are two) are off-topic actually, since they're not German related. But nevermind this time, since it's your first post.

This is a bomber cover of the famous "My Bonnie". What you thought was a German song was actually the refrain: "Bring back, bring back, oh bring back my bomber and me..." (Later you can hear a solo voice singing: "The controller said: 'How came you missed them?' And I leave you to guess what I said...")

You may hear the full song here https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/80024809

I don't know what the melody is, but it was played all three times during the Italian scenes... (So, probably something Italian or British related.)

Cheers,
Ivan
