A third, rare and attractive german decoration.

The Order of Albert was originally awarded to " all those who render useful service to the state, or who distinguish themselves through civil merit, science, art, etc., who have earned a claim to Our recognition." Beginning in 1866, the Order of Albert was bestowed upon military personnel for merit in the field and to indicate this, a pair of crossed swords were added to the medal. Very often, non-Saxons also received this award.

Refering to WW2 decorations, the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds is still my favorite.

This award was to be presented to the twelve most deserving germans after the war had been won by the axis. Only one exeption was made (the Stuka ace Hans-Ulrich Rudel) and this was to be the only one presented.

Hello Thorwald,

Yes, I also like the Luft badge as each one has a different eagle symbolizing a different act. The last badge is the one in my personal collection. I also have the award document for that particular badge.

1 Army paratrooper badge

2 Aux Cruiser badge - with Viking ship

3 The anti partisan badge

4 the riders badge, like Heydrich had, not an official military one, but still pretty neat since so many of the cavalrymen had them.
