Neck order:
- Sachsen-Ernestinischer Hausorden, Komturkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern [Saxe-Ernestine House Order, Commander's Cross 2nd Class with Swords]
Medal bar (left to right):
- Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse [Iron Cross 2nd Class]
- Militär-Karl-Friedrich-Verdienstorden, Ritterkreuz [Karl Friedrich Military Order of Merit, Knight's Cross}
- Orden vom Zähringer Löwen, Ritterkreuz mit Schwertern und Eichenlaub [Order of the Lion of Zähringen, Knight's Cross with Swords and Oak Leaves]. (It's either the Ritterkreuz 1. Klasse [1st Class, gold] or 2. Klasse [2nd Class, silver]; I can't tell for sure.)
Pinback awards (top to bottom):
- Eisernes Kreuz I. Klasse [Iron Cross 1st Class]
- Deutsches Reiterkreuz [German Horseman's Cross] (looks like the bronze grade)
- Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz [Wound Badge in Black]
- Sachsen-Ernestinischer Hausorden, Komturkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern [Saxe-Ernestine House Order, Commander's Cross 2nd Class with Swords]

The second decoration is the Bulgarian Military Order for Bravery, 4th Class, 2nd Grade (worn the wrong way around with the reverse side to the front). The third one is the Medal for the Italian-German Campaign in Africa [Medaglia commemorativa della campagna italo-tedesca in Africa settentrionale / Medaille für den italienisch-deutschen Feldzug in Afrika].

Re: Unidentified Medals, Decorations, Badges in wear
This is a close-up of badge awards of Vizeadmiral (Ing.) Walter Fröhlich.
Nicely visible is his EK1 (1939) and the U-Bootskriegsabzeichen (1918) below it.
When I zoomed in on these awards I noticed something to the right of the U-Bootskriegsabzeichen, covered by his hand.
The shape immediately reminded me of the Kriegsmarine awards from WW2.
Now, I have 2 guesses about what this could be:
1. Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen
Reason: He served as Fleet-Engineer, Fleet-Command (11 December 1939-07 January 1941) which would automatically make him eligible for this award. We know that even Wilhelm Marschall and Hermann Boehm received this award when they were Flottenchefs.
2. Kriegsabzeichen für die Marineartillerie
Reason: There is absolutely no reason for him to receive this award when looking at his career. Please see here for his WW2 assignments: https://www.oocities.org/~orion47/WEHRM ... ALTER.html
But what makes me think it could be this one is that little line that sticks out on the left of the award (pointed by the red arrow). To me, that looks like the top of the gun that sticks out from the Kriegsabzeichen für die Marineartillerie.
Please help me confirm if this award is number 1. or number 2.
Thanks!

I can appreciate the same detail in the badge too.
In this case it would be a ' Kriegsabzeichen für die Marineartillerie' the hidden badge.

Thanks. It clearly looks like the Kriegsabzeichen für die Marineartillerie. But how is it possible he received this award when nothing in his career indicates he was connected with Naval Artillery?

Then, it must be another badge, maybe a decoration with crossed swords ( KVK 1st Class w/Swords )

Hello,
can anyone help identifying this badge? I am sorry, the picture has rather bad quality. Is is obviouly a political badge or party decoration of the Third Reich.
Thank you in advance.

It's not an award; just a "tinnie" (day badge). You can see a specimen here:BlackMirror wrote: ↑29 Aug 2020 13:29can anyone help identifying this badge? I am sorry, the picture has rather bad quality. Is is obviouly a political badge or party decoration of the Third Reich.

(If I recall correctly, this tinnie has to do with the Sonnenwende [solstice] celebrations. The design - with the "sunwheel" Swastika inside a corona/circle of flames - would certainly make sense for that.)

Hi all,
Is this medal taken as a souvenir by an Australian soldier in North Africa the Italian Order of the Crown?
Cheers, Dave
