Is there any marking not showing? ....all I see is the small "800" directly under the "ring".....

if that's all there is....then it's a "JUNCKER" made Cross.....(there could be a small "*" under the 800, too)- if there is anything else need a clear view of those markings (could be "2", "L/12", Lazy "2" (on it's side), "20", "L/52", "L/15", "L/21", "65" on ring, "4" like your other RK, or unmarked. Also can be magnetic or non-magnetic). That might help you tell if there is something else....

Since each of your Knights Cross is differant,..... based on somewhat limited photographs, .......seeing "the other stuff", ....and because you're story has the "ring of truth" to it.....I'd feel pretty confident saying, yes....they're "real". Of course, not having them "in hand", and not being able to check all those other "key" factors.....I have to say with "only 99%" confidence !....but I'd "take one".....!

Having the box and ribbon ADDS greatly to thier desireability.....Values are down alittle- "generally speaking"....but these both would be anywhere from $8,000.00 to $15,000.00 each retail value (in the box)....(more like $20G Insurance value)....though when selling a "high end" item, usually it's going to be to a dealer... who'd want to pay around "half value, or less. Few normal collectors have 8 or 10 Thousand dollars to spend on a German medal....though there are some....obviously!

agreed. Both appear to be fine originals, congratulations. If I were you (and there are two crosses here) I would not take ANYTHING less than $15,000.00 for what you all have here, and I am sure John G. will agree.

I'll bow to William's expertise on maker of 2nd K.C., my "quick referance" sometimes misfires.....Both KCs are boxed with thier neck ribbons (according to Bronk7 PMs) though no pic.s as of yet....so "estimate" alittle "low", certianly from retail side- if he were selling the lot. Collectorwise, the "800 4" version is worth more than the "800" only mkd. version.....but important thing is both are legit. Certianly everything else, esp. the 39 clasp is nice stuff....but "nothing" compared to the two Knights Crosses. Kind of "Vet. lot" every collector/dealer dreams of.....!!!!!

they're both cased? 8O

that changes everything, and would up the ante on these. Retail you'd have roughly $25,000 worth of material here. I don't know too many collectors paying retail in this kind of economy but what you do have here is VERY desirable.

Once again, congratulations, you have quite a score here!
