Even from those long-range photographs it's an entry-level cast fake.

Nonsense. Original SS Honor rings were made out of solid silver and as such will patinate over time.

The inside band is black which I've never seen on a genuine ring so in my opinion its a fake.Silver tarnishes,it dosn't turn black like the one above so as a rule of thumb a black inner band shouts fake !!

Silver tarnishes. Given enough time the patina will go darker and if left undisturbed, it will end up looking black. No rule of thumb can change that fact.

The subject ended when you invented silver that doesn't tarnish black.

Here's another period original silver piece that turned black with tarnish.
