20 July 1944 Wound Badge.
20 July 1944 Wound Badge.
I was wondering about the Hitler Wound Badge. I have a chance to buy a Wound Badge one is a silver and bronze color and one is a golden color. Both have the stamp on back 2 for the manufacturer CE Junker. Burlin and 800 for the silver content. I was wanting to know if anyone knew why one was golden color and how many there were made.

Hello Kurt,
No one knows how many were made, most of those researching the subject agree at a number of less than 100. What we do know is how many were awarded- 24. They were awarded in three grades: black, silver and gold which also answers your question why one of those is gold in color. They are incredibly rare and desirable in collectors circles. If possible you should post pictures here before you hand over the money as there is a good chance that they may not be original specimens.
cheers
Matt

I would say the chances of being original is rather hopeful. Most originals are known. Many extremely good copys have been made. This is an original 20 July Wound badge - Black - Jodels. Picture of him with Hitler wearing the badge.
