Hi my name is Jason I am brand new to the forum.
I recently purchased this General Assault Badge and Krim Shield from a militaria dealer and I was wondering if anyone could help authenticate them as original? I could not see any makers marking on either items.
I am aware there are currently many forgeries on the market. Does any have any recommendations for literature that could assist? I am interested in German Heer militaria. I have recently picked up Lumsden's book on Third Reich Militaria,Angelia's Belt Buckels of the third Reich and Collectors guide to cloth by Wilkins.
Finally I have notice some rust on some of my items such as the Krim Shield. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to conserve medals and badges? I also collect coins and normally avoid cleaning them to not damage any them. I wanted to confirm if militaria normally follows this rule as well.
Thank you for your assistance and for any recommendations you may have.
Cheers,
Jason

Thanks Von Thoma for confirming. Much appreciated. Happy to hear they are both original. Agreed the latch looks repaired on the GAB.
