How did Germans post.day/month/year on awards

Did they .. lets say on a award for June 1 1943.... do 6-1-43.... or reverse? 43-6-1, or??/ I saw a plaque for 25 years service with the date 6-6-37 inscribed on it..thought is wrong

The typical order for dates would apply: Day, Month, Year, > Christmas would be listed as 25.12.2017
