Did German Army give to soldiers Wound Badge to men with shell shock or other mental dieseases?

As far as I know, No country awarded "wound medals" for shell shock or other "none-physical" wounds.... not in that time period certainly.

but a broken nose was considered wound?

As I known, the highest class of wound badge was golden for who suffered the dead. Why this class was settled ? since on one can recovery from the death. or it is only symbolically?

Alanlee, the verwundabzeichen im Gold was for 4 plus wounds or if the recipient was killed. It was not for KIA soldiers only. In answer to the original post John is correct in that there was not an award for shell shock, combat stress in the Third Reich. Even 70 years and many wars later there is no award (as far as I'm aware) although the condition is recognised there is no direct correlation to a decoration by any army in the World.

Indeed, I have note seen anyone who decorated with golden wound badge until now.
