1936 Olympic Medal

#1

Post by Porcelain44 » 29 Oct 2017, 15:37

Hello. I think this medal is real. Please let me know if I am wrong. There what appears to be a 54 on the ring and a 3 on the side of the medal. What do these stand for? Who would have been awarded this medal? Thanks!

Eagle's head and chest are very poorly executed, signs of a fake IMHO. Commemorative medal was awarded to those who contributed low level support to the 1936 Games..... such as Police, security, staff, administration, etc. 54,915 awarded.

I would make shure both photos used the same lightning condition,
It might just be a matter of shadowing, in this light the eagles neck looks different.

But on second look, the wing pens are straight on the museum piece and slightly curved on the first.
And that hardly changes with lightning conditions...

Cheers

:D all a matter of what one sees!
I think there's more than just lighting
effects. Shape, qualiy etc. made me doubt.
