equestrian german badge

The equestrian badge had 3 levels, what a "reiter" did to have this badge? I know that the gold was for olympic races.

The gold award wasn't just for olympic winners... but of course they would normally qualify for that level. All awards were for Horsemanship, Equestrian competition, service to equestrian Sports in general, etc., the Gold version being awarded relatively few times (there were many more made than awarded of all grades).

More detail qualification requirements are listed on other forums.... and most reference books.

3rd Cl. bronze- Awarded for success in Horse racing. 61,710 Awards 1931-1942.
2nd Cl. Silver-Awarded for success at tournaments and Shows. 6,183 awards 1931-1942.
1st Cl. Gold- Outstanding achievement in Equestrian Sports- 210 Awards 1931-1942

German Horse Driver's Badge
:
3rd Cl. bronze- Awarded for trotting Competitions. 17,376 awards 1931-1942.
2nd Cl. Silver- Awarded for other types of tournament competition- 1,940 awards 1931-1942.
1st Cl. Gold- For Outstanding achievement in Equestrian Sports- 61 awards

Care of Horses Badge:
3rd cl. bronze-
10 Yrs. employment at same stable.
5 Horse Breeding Commendations for good care/grooming
Winning 10 1st places
Outstanding achievement in improving stock.

2nd Cl. Silver:
15 yrs. employment
10 Commendations for breeding
20 1st place awards
Further demonstrated achievement in the improvement of stock.

1st Cl. Gold:
20 Yrs. employment
15 Commendations for breeding
Winning 15 Horse shows
Winning 30 1st place awards at tournaments or races.

Slightly condensed... but that should give you what you're looking for.

Heinz Heydrich, younger brother of Reinhard Heydrich, was also awarded the Equestrian badge. It is visible in one photo I've seen of him wearing his Panzer Soldier uniform.

Is anyone aware of what class his award was? When?
