I have a DRL sports badge and there seems to be some who think its post war. Others think its original. I have it in hand it it compares to my known original badge. This badge is a high quality item if its fake.

My question is why would someone fake so perfect a copy and just forget to put on the DRGM number? I see bad fakes that have the maker on the back and DRGM but are not even close to this quality. I am not so sure its a fake.

Controversial pieces in some collecting circles but, IMO, original to the period.

Couple of makers did not mark their badges with DRGM stamps (F. Kohm and E. Schneider) so why not unmarked and original?

Looking at its construction, materials used and details, I'd say it is an original DRL piece even though, admittedly, this is not my main collecting area.

For what's it's worth- I think there was a set or two with its paperwork coming straight from the veterans who were awarded them if I am not mistaken (WAF).
