Help need with Knights Cross Oakleaves and Swords.
Help need with Knights Cross Oakleaves and Swords.
This is my first post, so please bear with me while I find my way around.
I have recently acquired a set of Oakleaves and Swords, but my gut feeling is that its a set of post war 1957 issue.
Being fairly new to 3rd Reich medals etc, I wondered if anyone could let me know their thoughts on this set?
Marked 900 on the back, plus the number 41.
Over to you.
Many thanks,
Old Towzer.

Hello Oldtowzer;
Welcome to AHF.
It is a fairly well done reproduction compared to the original.
While I don't think the 900 mark is the true silver content in this case.
The originals tend to have more stylized swords, and less precision in the details of the cross-guard.
An original set marked '900' and 21, by Gebr. Godet & Co., Berlin.

Many thanks von thoma for your reply.
Yes, I was fairly certain that the Oakleaves and Swords were a reproduction, so thank you for confirming my thoughts.
Kind regards
Old towzer.
