NSKOV eagle makers mark

Post by Andypresto » 01 May 2023 04:14

I have recently aquired an NSKOV eagle pin (2 crossed swords with enameled iron cross over a silver eagle, lateral wings not vertical) and it has the ges. Gesch on the back and a small 2 stamped above that. Any idea what that 2 means? I tried to Google but no luck. Wouldn't let me attach the picture here

Thanks!

I don't know, but I can tell you it's not an NSKOV eagle: What you describe here is an eagle for the NS-RKB or possibly for the Soldatenbund.

The NS-RKB badge has short swords and an eagle looking to the right (as seen by the viewer); the Soldatenbund one has long swords and an eagle looking to the left (as seen by the viewer).
