NO ONE BOOK IS THE BEST

I recommend the following to have a good basic library.

1. Formans Guides - although mainly a price guide, there are some good examples of original pieces both front and backs.

2. For Fuhrer and Fatherland - This book has quite a few reproductions listed as original, however the historical background is very good.

3. Detlev Niemann - Another price guide. With good photos.

4. Andre Husken - Another price guide. With some good original and very rare pieces.

5. Doehle's guides 1943-and 1954 - Original war time reference. Good information, with horrible photos.

6. Iron Times - Excellent photo's in color of the Iron Cross series.

7. jorg Nimmerguts Vol 4 on German medals, badges and other decorations.

You will find good information in all, but no one book is the best.
