Bergführerabzeichen , need pics

#1

Post by Raz » 06 Jul 2002, 12:27

Does anyone have pics of the extremely rare Heeres Bergführerabzeichen?
Other than ones pictured in main stream books. Bill?

I've been on the hunt for one of these badges for many a year.
I think I heard Wolfe-Hardin had (has) one for sale.

Hi Marcus

I love that picture of the rosy cheeked Gebirgsjaeger. As a matter of fact, when I first went online, I must have typed in "Third Reich" as a search, and ended up at your website, with that picture on my monitor.

I would love to have a color copy of that picture for my wall.

Ahhh.....memories.

Great pictures Markus!

Regulations stated that the bergführer badge was to be worn on the left
breast pocket as shown in in pictures above. However I've seen a few
other pics where the recipients including Dietl have worn it on their right
breast pocket, in my opinion a much better prominent position than what
any regualtions said!

Generalleutnant Richard Zimmer. His Bergführerabzeichen is visible below Deutsches Kreuz in Gold...
