This badge has $99 starting bid, plus a higher reserve. No mention is made of it being a fake. Even $99 is pretty expensive for a bad fake (which is not even identified as a fake), much less a higher reserve. Something smells bad on eBay. Just my opinion.

Hmmm Ben

I thought that the general consensus of opinion was that this badge was fake.
Yet it seems that you are selling it on ebay as an original no mention that it is repro??

Nick,

Thank you for pointing out this error.

It is my partner's auction(Item #2130944561), and I have notified him of this error. Until he removes it, I will not link to that auction on my site until it is removed.

Regards,

Benjamin Fanjoy

Yes, Ben, I can read. I was under the impression from all your recent posts on AP badges on this and the Wehrmacht Forum, that you were an expert on these badges and would communicate the doubts on this badge to your partner. After all, you were the one who originally posted the badge on this forum.

Firstly, I never claimed to be an expert. So don't give me that BS.

Secondly, yes, I did originally post the badge here, and I told him it was crap. I can not control what he post's on e-bay, that is why I removed his link from my site. Understand??

Okay, don't get your knickers in a wad. Let's just say in your enthusiasm to participate since you finally bought a good AP, your posts came across as being from an expert. And, no you can't control what your partner sells on eBay, but if it were MY partner and his and my name were on my Militaria dealer website, I'd sure be concerned. (I'm assuming by "partner" you mean "Martin" and in "Ben and Martin's Militaria."

OK Guys !

I think the point has been made.

Ben, all I can say is that people are very touchy about being taken for a ride or had over. Things are hard enough for the collector with the minefield of fakes and unscrupulous dealers out there.

Your explanation has been forthcoming and open.

But perhaps it emphasises the fact that you have to play the game 100% by the book. It may have been your partner but association is enough to worry people.

Any irregularities are easily spotted by the watchful eyes of guys (and girls) out there.

You don't think I'm aware of this?

I'm not an unscrupulous dealer, nor have I ever taken anybody for ride!!!

I do play the game 100% by the book, which is why I'm being so open in this discussion and correcting any errors that may arise.

With the frequency to which I hear you say.."sorry, I will remove it", maybe selling militaria isnt such a great idea? You obviously do not have the expertise to operate a storefront for militaria.

And you may have never claimed to be an authority on APB badges, you certianly have tried to come across that way in posts here, and on the WA forum. I would be more than happy to link the threads if you like.

You have no room to get all pissy either, just because we noticed.

If you want to be a collector, with us, we welcome you, but stop this "Is this real" stuff over and over just to sell it off your weak website. If thats what you want to do, be prepared to be scrutinized thouroughly.

This has happened on two occasions, and I corrected myself!!

Is there a problem with making errors, especially when starting a new venture?

I'm assuming you never make mistakes?

Because in previous posts I talked about the APB, and/or gave opinions that makes me sound like an expert?!?!?

I'm not getting "pissy", as you so have interestingly put it; I'm just getting tired of explaining myself over and over.

That is not what I'm trying to do, so do not assume things.

Popular badge of the year....?

Post by Matt Gibbs » 23 Aug 2002 14:59

The interest in this particular type of badge leads me to suggest it a contendor for the most popular badge of the year :)
I am always amazed about the interest in it and of course how sceptical collectors are about it and the many fakes!
Kind Regards

Hello, I am new to this forum and haven't figured out how to post photo's. My question is, was Schaeuerte & Hohfeld. Ludenscheid L/54 a producer of the Antipartizen Badge?
