I have noticed when viewing ground dug metals. The pins look in good shape. Was wondering what most pins on the badges were made of

Re: Ground DUG Metals
I believe that some were made from brass, although most were steel.don wrote:I have noticed when viewing ground dug metals. The pins look in good shape. Was wondering what most pins on the badges were made of

Has anyone known of these being home-grown as opposed to wartime digs? Remember the old 'Victory Gardens" from WWII? They still may exist; no longer growing vegitables, instead using reproductions for this purpose. It would serve no purpose for one to use a genuine badge; at least the way I see it.
