Very well done again!!

Steglich it was. The awards and the positions of them and the signature all matched. How could I have missed it? Gave too much credence to a real, Sütterlin signature.

the nco is Ofw Hans Hindelang awarded the
KC as Zugfhr.i.d.14/Inf Regt(mot) GD on the
4/9/1940.
Born Trossingen 16/4/1912
Died Trossingen 1/6/2004

Hauptmann Alfred Grislawski appt acting Kdr III/JG 1 18.7.1944 when Hpt Erich Woitke was shot down and wounded. Grislawski was shot down 27.7.44 but he survived with a few bruises Appt Staffelkapitan 11/JG 53 end July 1944

Bruchmann was "only" Feldwebel der Reserve, but our unknown man is obviously Oberfeldwebel :(

Modern technology still can beat this!

I used Access to sort all Oberfeldwebel's and Feldwebel's and Unteroffizier's with name Gerhard. Either I know what they looked like or they didn't fit the bit. Except there was no picture of ObFwb Gerhard Scholz Fhr 7/GrRgt 317.

His name is Gerhard, I'm 99% at least if you compare the letters in his writing with his signature...

Yes, it is Horn. I was searching under G, because I didn't think that a personal greeting message for a birthday would have been signed with the surname first.
