These are very interesting photos of the ruins - thanks for posting, Xavier! The captions say "Berghof," but the ones I could get to load don't show the Berghof. They show the Platterhof and Bormann's house and the SS Kaserne. Notice the tour buses at the Platterhof! I guess "Berghof" was the name used for the overall collection.

Xavier,

Thanks - I tried another computer, and now I can see all the photos. These really are some very good detailed photos! I really like the one that shows the "Atlas Fountain" at the Platterhof, that I guess the US Army didn't want, because before they opened the General Walker Hotel, this fountain was moved to the spa district in Bad Reichenhall, where it remains today.

Here is a good inside view of the Great Room. What a "great" room it had been.

Yes, a great room and the Allied troops destroyed it :x
Sorry but every time I see pics like this then I´m really sad and angry about the "destroy campaign" :(

Yes, I'm with you...if only these could have been preserved today.

But that's war I guess, a sad history of man wasted efforts, at least the Kehlsteinhaus is still there... to enjoy today...they serve a great snizzle:-)
