In 5.jpg, isn't it unusual for the Knights Cross to be presented by a Hauptmann? Most photos seem to show the ceremony being conducted by a General or Admiral. Perhaps there is someone else present but not shown in the photo.

Three un-named from Militariaweb

Post by John Toner » 28 Oct 2007 12:09

These three appear uncaptioned on the Militariaweb auction site. Can anyone ID them?

17.jpg posted by Bake and Id'ed by Alex as Höhne and Rupp is a tough one. I know this was in a InfDiv 30 album. So it would be von Basse possibly with his Johanniter and not Rupp. Two more pieces of possible leads are: these soldiers did not look like Jägers from 97 JG Div without those distinctive short mountain boots and I think I see a pip on the general's shoulder. Rupp was GenMj when Höhne earned RK ( Höhne did get DK too in 1945 nad of course EL later)

If it were v Basse, the the easy fit would have been Karl Ulrich Claussen of ArtRgt30. But Claussen earned DK before RK. My only other possible answer would be Klause Juergensen during v Basse's command. No DK.

Hi bake,

Try harder instead of just posting them. It's a lot more fun that way. Fischer Weikersthal decorating Killian Weimar in 8.jpeg. It was posted in this same precise thread before. 9.jpeg is also a very common one.

Cheers
Freiherr
