Hello Bake!

The signature sure looks like "Bülowius" so...

Alfred Bülowius recieved the RK on 04.07.1940 as an Oberst and Kdre. Lehr.Geschw. 1.

Hi Bake, fantastic pic of Alfred Bulowius, best I have seen.
Well spotted Doc,The Biblio series show a not too great a photo
with a squint mouth on the left side of face,it could be that the injury
more than likely thru war got worse late on during the war,as you do not
see the in this pic taken in 1940.

This RK holder is from Artillery Rgt. 270. There are several from this regiment, but I cannot find a good photo to compare.

Hermann Tietz?
Heinz Werner?

Hi Mark,

I think you meant 240 ArtRgt not 270 ArtRgt as there were no RK in 270 Div.
Secondly, if you are certain about the 240 number, then the only person that was old enough to hold a gun in WW1 to win the spange was ObstLt Martin Strahammer. But he won RK as Kmdr of PzJgAbt 240, not ArtRgt 240. There was no one old enough in Art Rgt 240 to have won spange. He went on to be GenMj and won EL.

Cheers
Freiherr
