Fallschirmjäger RKTs - pics and career data
Here's a photo of Hermann Plocher(1901-1980) that Phil Nix posted.
Plocher commanded the rebuilt 6FJD in 1944/1945.An interesting character,having served with Erwin Rommel in 1922 as a regimental comrade.Chief of Staff of the Condor Legion 1937-1938.Awarded RK,Luftflotte 3 1943.After the war wrote three books on the Luftwaffe in Russia for the USAF Historical Division.

First of all, what a truly great and interesting thread you've got going here. Thanks!
About your last posted photograph that you say was taken in Tunisia January 1943... You could see that the RKT FJ Officer is also carrying a DKiG but Alfred Genz never recieved that particular award and Rudolf Witzig recieved his DKiG on 17.10.1943 so...
Either is the date and place wrong or it's another FJ RKT Officer with the DKiG.

I don't consider myself an expert in this field.What's been collated here is the great efforts of historians like Eric Queen,Jean-Yves Nasse,Franz Kurowski,Willi Zahn and Oscar G who have dedicated themselves to the study of the Fallschirmjäger and on other military forums freely share their knowledge.Our own in forum assistance is also much appreciated.
