bake: the third person between Becker and Niemeck could be Hptm. HANS HAUPTMANN, Kommandeur Kradschützenbataillon 55. All from 5.Panzerdivision, received the KC in March 1943.

@bake,

I would agree to joerg and say also Hauptmann Hauptmann ! :)
ritterkreuz.de has a pic of him (only comparisn for me, never saw another one) and it matches I think. Those 5. Pz.Div. award dates are 15.03. (Becker), 14.03. (Niemeck) and 15.03. for Hauptmann. The only other date which allows the conlcusion for a common ceremony is for Oberfeldwebel Ewald Görsch, 15.03.43, 8./Pz.Gren.Rgt. 13. The shoulder boards are very hard to see. The breeches are a strong hint for Hauptmann as leader of the Kradschtz.Btl. IMO (former cavalry man probably).

Hans Hauptmann -last rank Major.
There was a Hauptmann ex 11th Pz Gdr Regt (9th Pz Div)promoted
to Major 1/4/43(18) I believe it to be him,probably wearing his Major
tabs then.

Hello, Bernd,

Just a note. I am not sure that the following have been id'd, since they are not captioned.

On P. 14 two pix: unknown_4 and -5jpg are both photos of Johann Biehl.

Page 22: Under the heading "No _ id 4.jpg is a photo of Günter Jahn.

Page 23: UB RKT XXII jpg is a pic of Josef Dörfel.

Hope this helps. I should be able to id more shortly.

Take care.

Terry
